18-year-old Czech tourist dies in fall on Switzerland's Mount Pilatus

An 18-year-old tourist from Czechia fell to his death on Switzerland's Mount Pilatus, where he had travelled with a youth tourist group.

The young man had gone for a walk on his own during free time when he fell. When he failed to show up for the group's 1:30 p.m. meeting point and did not answer his phone, his fellow travellers called the police. An air rescue service joined the search for the missing teenager.

During a search flight, rescuers found the young man's body at the foot of a steep cliff. The exact circumstances of the fall are still being established. Police support staff are now working with the rest of the tourist group.
