"Concert for the Park" in Prague 13 draws thousands, with the mayor himself on drums

Prague 13 hosted its traditional "Concert for the Park," which marked its 24th edition this year and, according to the district administration, drew thousands of visitors. The event traditionally marks the end of summer holidays and remains one of the district's most popular cultural traditions.

Even before the evening's headliners took the stage, the audience's attention was caught by a band featuring local officials among its members. Prague 13 Mayor David Vodrážka (ODS) sat down behind the drums, while his deputy Petr Zeman (ODS) picked up a guitar.

Officials' musical debut

"The Concert for the Park is a traditional way to close out the summer holidays, and I'm glad that the deputy mayor and I could make our own musical contribution. Every day at city hall we deal with countless issues, but today we got to step into a completely different role. It was a great pleasure for us, and judging by the audience's reaction, everyone who joined us in the park enjoyed the evening too. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the musicians who gave our district such a memorable night," said Vodrážka.

The evening's headliners

Thousands of spectators danced and sang along with the band Support Lesbiens, who warmed up the crowd ahead of the main performance. The 24th "Concert for the Park" was closed out by Dalibor Janda and his band Prototyp, with Jiřina Anna Jandová appearing as the evening's special guest.
