Electric Scooter Fire Forces 15 Residents Out of Apartment Building in Orlová

In the town of Orlová in the Moravian-Silesian Region, an electric scooter caught fire inside an apartment in a residential building. Firefighters were alerted at 1:22 p.m., and the scene was attended not only by professional crews from Orlová and Karviná but also by volunteer fire brigades from Orlová-Poruba and Orlová-Město.

Even before firefighters arrived, 15 residents of the building had already managed to leave on their own. The fire, which broke out on the second floor, was brought under control in less than 20 minutes, according to fire department spokeswoman Eliška Trefilová.

A gas company technician also worked at the scene, disconnecting the building's gas supply. Firefighters estimated the preliminary damage from the fire at 400,000 koruna.
