Final Volume of the Cult Manga "Heartstopper" Comes Out in Czech

On September 7, 2026, publisher CooBoo releases the sixth and final volume of British author Alice Oseman's cult graphic novel "Heartstopper" in Czech — a story that has grown since 2016 from a webcomic into one of the defining symbols of contemporary young adult literature, winning over millions of readers worldwide.

What the Ending Is About

The series won its devoted following thanks to its honest, tender portrayal of growing up, first love, friendship, self-discovery and mental health. In the final volume, Nick and Charlie face major changes: Charlie runs for head boy at school, while Nick prepares for university. For the first time, both truly grasp that the future isn't guaranteed — not even for the strongest relationships. Alice Oseman brings her characters' story to a close with the same warmth and simplicity that marked its beginning ten years ago.

Success on Page and on Screen

The Netflix TV series played a huge role in the story's popularity, with Oseman serving not only as writer but also as one of the show's creators and an executive producer. Rather than a planned fourth season, the creators made a feature film, "Heartstopper Forever," which brings the screen adaptation of Nick and Charlie's story to a close. The series has won two Children's & Family Emmy Awards and is regarded as one of the most acclaimed adaptations of teen fiction in recent years.

Reader awards confirm the story's success as well: the comic has won the Goodreads Choice Awards twice, and the sixth volume received exceptionally high ratings from readers on Goodreads shortly after release. Alice Oseman herself has been named to the prestigious BBC 100 Women and TIME100 Next lists, which spotlight standout figures of the new generation.

The sixth volume of "Heartstopper" is translated into Czech by Romana Bičíková and published by CooBoo, an imprint of the Albatros Media group, which by its own figures holds around 20% of the Czech book market and releases roughly a thousand new titles every year.
