SÚKL recalls two batches of kidney stone medication Rowatinex

The State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) is withdrawing two batches of the over-the-counter medication Rowatinex from the Czech market. The drug is used to treat urinary tract disorders and kidney stones.

According to SÚKL, the affected batches are 8781L, with an expiry date of October 2026, and 8706L, expiring in April 2027. Both are being pulled from pharmacies and healthcare facilities nationwide.

The recall decision was made by the manufacturer itself — the Irish company ROWA Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The move follows a quality defect: according to SÚKL, test results showed the peroxide value exceeded the permitted limit.
