A woman fell onto the tracks at Náměstí Míru metro station in Prague on Friday and died. Rescuers and police are at the scene, and the circumstances of the incident are being established.
Emergency services were sent to the station and, according to police, the victim was pulled out from the track bed. Ambulance service spokesman Karel Kirs said the woman suffered injuries incompatible with life, so a coroner was called to the scene.
According to the transport operator, passengers should use surface transport. Bus lines 107 and 147 have been extended from Dejvická to Staroměstská, and tram 4 runs from the I. P. Pavlova stop, diverted via Náměstí Míru and Flora to the Strašnice depot.
